Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on power infrastructure over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Multiple people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.
